EastEnders tonight: Will Mick marry Janine as their wedding day dawns?

It’s a big day for Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) in tonight’s EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7.30pm. Mick is set to marry Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) but the question is, will he go through with the wedding?

It couldn’t be more obvious that Mick is still longing for his ex-wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), his soulmate and teenage sweetheart.

Thanks to Janine’s constant scheming over the last year, Mick and Linda were torn apart. But the one thing the bride-to-be can’t control is true love.

Janine and Mick are both due to exit the BBC soap, so whatever happens next, we’ve not long left in their company. You can bet on one thing, though; there’s still plenty of drama on the way.

Desperate to cut Linda out of Mick’s life, Janine demanded that they buy her out of the Queen Vic. Instead, Mick suggested that he sell his share to Linda, leaving him and Janine to make a fresh start elsewhere.

This wasn’t in Janine’s game plan, as she wanted nothing more than to live in the pub she first moved into as a child with her father Frank Butcher (Mike Reid).

As the week began, Janine's daughter Scarlett (Tabitha Byron) worried that Mick would discover her mum’s lies surrounding Linda’s car crash. Janine insisted that Mick must never find out; but she was unaware that his mother Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) had heard their conversation.

When Shirley questioned Scarlett, the youngster managed to cover; but suspicious Shirl wasn’t giving up as she listened in on Janine's phone call with a mysterious man called Steve.

Meanwhile, Mick ventured out on his stag night, where Callum Highway (Tony Clay) asked if he was certain he was doing the right thing. Mick maintained that he loved Janine, but there was a harsh blow in store when he learned his kids wouldn’t be coming to the wedding.

Janine told Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) that nothing would stop her from becoming Mrs Carter. But as Scarlett looked at an incriminating photograph, Shirley found a set of keys in Janine's coat. Will Shirley be able to stop Mick making a big mistake?

On the morning of the nuptials, Linda offers Mick one final way out of his predicament. Will he take it? Well, as Janine awaits her groom, it seems he’s missing in action.

Speaking about Janine’s mindset at this point, star Brooks reveals: “She’s panicking. Janine feels so hard done by all of the time. In her head, people screw her over all of the time, and none of it is her fault.

“She can’t see her part in anything. There’s definitely a lack of self-awareness. But I think it’s just panic, initially.”
