Emmerdale airs near-death twist in Cain and Al's feud story

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has aired a dramatic twist in the feud between Cain Dingle and Al Chapman over Chloe Harris's stalking ordeal.

Previously, Chloe (Jessie Elland) found out that her ex-boyfriend Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) had been taking pictures of her without her consent, storing them on his laptop.

Tonight's (May 12) hour-long episode opened with Charity (Emma Atkins) being disappointed in Noah after discovering what he did to Chloe. Noah, on his part, blamed his mum for the way he's turned out, causing Charity to doubt her skills as a mother.

As Al (Michael Wildman) wanted to involve the police to bring Noah to justice, Cain (Jeff Hordley) was determined to protect his family.

Cain and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) embarked on a car chase to retrieve Noah's laptop that Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) had stolen and tried to prevent Al from going to the police station with it.

When Al managed to get away, Cain swerved the vehicle to do a U-turn and follow him, crashing into a telegraph pole.

After coming round, Chas and Cain realised they were stuck, with the pole dangerously hanging over their car. Al got out of his vehicle to check on them, managing to set Chas free, while Cain was still stuck inside.

Thinking this was the end for him, Cain begged Chas to go ask for help, not wanting his sister to witness his violent death. After Chas reluctantly went away, however, Al was able to save Cain.

Chas arrived with police and thanked Al for not letting his feelings for Cain have the best of him.

"I wouldn't let someone die, even if that someone was him," Al told her.

Elsewhere, Kerry (Laura Norton) found Noah hiding in the graveyard and pushed him in an empty grave to teach him a lesson. After managing to get free, Noah got back home and apologised to Charity.

"We're going to stay put and we're going to fix this," Charity told her son.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
