Emmerdale factory fire victim reacts to their final scenes
Note: This article contains spoilers from Thursday's Emmerdale episodes (August 1), which some readers may prefer to avoid.
Emmerdale star Michael Praed has said goodbye to the soap in a new farewell video after his character Frank Clayton was revealed to be the unlucky victim of the fire at the Sharma & Sharma sweet factory tonight (August 1).
Frank died a hero after he managed to save his daughter Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) from the fire, but his decision to stay behind a bit longer and retrieve an engagement ring he meant to give to partner Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) proved fatal after the building exploded, and Frank was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Michael has now spoken out about his exit in a behind-the-scenes video of the stunt that was posted on the soap's social media channels after the episode aired.
"Sadly, it's the demise of young Frank," Michael shared. "I would just like to thank all you guys for your support, and I hope you continue to love the show as much as I do, and all the people in it."

Emmerdale viewers were devastated to see Frank go too, and they soon shared their final tributes to the departed character on social media.
This Morning's soap queen and Emmerdale writer Sharon Marshall led the tributes, saying that Frank's death was "worse than when Wham! split up".
"By the way - the one thing everyone who works with him agrees on is that Mr Michael Praed is one of the loveliest men on the planet," she added.
"So nice when the people who were on your teenage walls turn out to be totally splendid. RIP Frank."
