She then said: "We've lost both our mums. And when it comes to things like weddings, you do it for the other people."
Riley concluded by saying that she didn't think marriage would change anything: "I'm never going to change my name, so really, what would be different?"
The Emmerdale actor has been open in the past about struggling with her mother's death and said she writes a letter to her every year and takes it to the post office.
Riley also admitted she went back to work too quickly following the death of her partner's mum, saying: "It has been a treacherous time and it's still very raw in the family. In hindsight, when Nana passed I shouldn't have gone back to work so quickly."
Riley has been engaged to Al since 2018 after originally getting together in 2015. Riley did not make her relationship with the American public until 2019.
Riley first started playing Mandy Dingle in 1995 and starred in Emmerdale until 2001. She later returned to the soap in 2019.
The actor is also known for being a regular panellist on Loose Women and a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.
