Yahoo News Emmerdale to revisit Holly Barton's death in new Suzy storyline

Emmerdale will revisit the tragic death of Holly Barton in a new storyline for Suzy Merton, as a second secret is revealed about the newcomer.
Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) recently arrived in the village as a new love interest for Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), but it soon became clear that she is also already acquainted with Leyla Cavanagh (Roxy Shahidi).
Although Suzy and Leyla met through work, it was later revealed that they also have a darker connection, as Leyla has recently developed a secret drug habit and Suzy has been acting as her supplier and has been taking drugs with her.

Suzy and Leyla have managed to keep their secret under wraps for now, but being in the village will get even tougher for Suzy next week when she realises that she has another connection to the Emmerdale residents.
When Suzy suggests to Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) that she should hire out her barns for use as wedding venues, Moira feels inspired.
But Suzy later inadvertently puts her foot in it when she asks Moira about using the field where her daughter, Holly, is buried, after Holly's sad death in 2016 as a result of her drug addiction.
When Leyla points out a photo of Holly in Moira's home, Suzy is stunned to realise that she recognises her. Unsettled, Suzy repeatedly stares at Holly's picture before bolting from the house, leaving Leyla confused.

Back at the café, Leyla finds Suzy covertly browsing through an online remembrance page for Holly and wonders what is going on.
Suzy is forced to admit that she knew Holly and she opens up to Leyla, with Leyla left overwhelmed by what she has to say.

Holly's death came as a shock to viewers when it aired, as there had been no spoilers or clues as to what was going to happen to her.
The episode opened with Moira casually bringing a cup of tea to her daughter, who she believed was sleeping after a late night at a wedding, only for her to discover an empty heroin wrapper on the floor and realise that Holly had passed away overnight.
Emmerdale airs these scenes in the week commencing May 16 on ITV. The show also streams on the ITV Hub.
