'Emmerdale' star Samantha Giles rushed to hospital with illness
Emmerdale star Samantha Giles has been treated in hospital after coming down with a sudden illness.
Giles, who plays Bernice Blackstock, shared the news on Twitter but did not reveal what she had been treated for.
The actor wrote: "Huge thank you to all the wonderfully caring staff at @LiverpoolWomens for looking after me today."
Giles also reassured fans by saying "I'm fine and I'll be home soon."

Fans of Giles hurried to send messages of support to the Emmerdale star. One wrote: "Thank goodness for the #NHS Sending lots of love xxxxxx," while another said: "Hope you're feeling well. You're in good hands."

Former Emmerdale co-star Reece Dinsdale also tweeted: "Speedy recovery, Samantha!"
The Liverpool Women's hospital, where Giles was taken, also sent their best wishes: "We hope you feel better soon @sammeegiles Thank you for your kind words to our staff."
In the soap, Bernice owns a beauty salon and was previously married to Lawrence Wright before discovering that he was gay.
Giles first appeared in Emmerdale in 1998 and was a regular cast member until 2002 which saw her first departure from the soap. She later returned for a stint in 2004 and more permanently in 2012.

Giles left the soap again in 2019 with a desire to focus on other things such as writing her first novel which was published in 2020.
She returned to Emmerdale last year, shortly before celebrating her 50th birthday.
Giles also had a prolonged role in Channel 4's Hollyoaks where she played Valerie Holden between 2008 and 2010.
She also had a minor role as Kirsty in Coronation Street between 1994 and 1995.
Between her Emmerdale stints, Giles also appeared in Where the Heart Is and competed on Celebrity Mastermind where her specialist subject was the films of Alfred Hitchcock.
