Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale's Suzy Merton begs her girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield to be discreet next week as her secret over Holly Barton is exposed.

Suzy has been trying to prevent the villagers from finding out that she once knew Holly and played an inadvertent role in her death in 2016.

In next week's episodes, Suzy and Priya Kotecha prepare to put on a Take A Vow showcase at The HOP.

Suzy is unaware that her slideshow of pictures includes a photo of Holly on the day she died.

When the showcase begins, the inevitable happens as the picture of Holly flashes up and her mum, Moira Dingle, demands an explanation.

Suzy fears there's no getting out of this one, as Moira recognises the dress that Holly wore on the day she died.

Moira is desperate for information on what happened, but Suzy successfully covers her tracks by lying.

While this is enough to satisfy Moira's curiosity, Vanessa is watching closely and can tell that Suzy is not telling the truth about Holly.

Once they're alone, Vanessa orders Suzy to explain herself. Suzy reluctantly comes clean about how she gave money to Holly on the night of her death, which Holly used to buy heroin with tragic consequences.

When Moira interrupts the conversation, Suzy and Vanessa both worry that they've been overheard.

Instead, Moira apologises for lashing out earlier. Vanessa is disappointed when Suzy doesn't take this opportunity to tell Moira the truth.

Later, Suzy begs Vanessa to keep her secret. As Vanessa reflects on her relationship with Suzy and her friendship with Moira, where do her loyalties lie?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
