Former Hollyoaks star Joanna Taylor has confirmed she has separated from husband Danny Murphy after more than 14 years of marriage.

The Geri Hudson actress and Match of the Day pundit tied the knot back in 2004 and have two children together, though Joanna has revealed that they have been separated "for a long time".

"There’s no bad feeling between us," she told The Sun. "He’s the father of my children and they adore him. We haven’t been together for a while to be honest, we’ve been separated for a long time.

"We still get on, so I’m not going to speak badly of him. We speak every day. We’re not together, he can do what he wants."

She added of speculation over their marriage: "Whatever you’ve been told is of course one-sided, and it has clearly been in my favour, so you should definitely see what he has to say about it."

Digital Spy has reached out to Danny's representatives for comment.

Joanna appeared as Geri on Hollyoaks between 1999 and 2001, and went on to star in BBC police drama Merseybeat as well as a few movies.

Danny, meanwhile, is a former footballer who played for Liverpool. After that, he played for the likes of Charlton Athletic, Tottenham, Fulham and Blackburn Rovers. Since retiring, he's been a regular analyst on long-running BBC football show Match of the Day.
