Fancy a night out? Three big names at Medina Theatre this month

THREE top names in the world of music are heading to the Isle of Wight to perform at Medina Theatre this month.

Opera star Lesley Garrett set for Medina Theatre

Powerhouse opera diva Lesley Garrett will take to the stage for an evening of song, reminiscences and chat.

The popular soprano will be accompanied by pianist Anna Tilbrook.

Lesley's behind-the-scenes stories and anecdotes will give audiences a unique insight into her life on the stage.

She last performed on the Island at Wight Proms in 2019.

The date for your diaries is March 18, and tickets for A Diva and A Piano are on sale now.

Andy Fairweather Low to perform at Medina Theatre

Also appearing is Andy Fairweather Low, whose pedigree is the stuff rock dreams are made of.

He first came to prominence at the vanguard of the new youthful expression of music as the lead singer in Amen Corner.

The 60s saw them clock up hit after pop hit. Songs such as Bend Me Shape Me, Hello Suzy, ( If Paradise is) Half As Nice are internationally remembered to this day.

Since the early days Andy has gone on to work with big names including Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix.

Now following a solo path, his first solo album in 24 years Sweet Soulful Music was released late in 2007 followed by The Very Best Of Andy Fairweather Low which was released in the UK in June 2008 and the Live DVD followed hot on it's heels.

If you just remember Andy's early work and major solo hits such as Wide Eyed And Legless, you're in for a treat.

He is appearing at Medina Theatre on March 18.

Also heading to the Isle of Wight are Herman's Hermits

Herman’s Hermits, one of the biggest selling bands of the 1960s, is also on the theatre bill.

From their early beginnings in Manchester in 1964, the band have chalked up 23 hit singles, ten hit albums, appeared in three movies and to date they have sold in excess of 75 million records worldwide.

Hits include There’s A Kind Of Hush, Silhouettes, Can’t You Hear My Heart Beat, Wonderful World, A Must To Avoid, Mrs Brown You’ve Gotta Lovely Daughter.

Rolling Back The 60s sees Herman’s Hermits embarking on their solo tour.

An evening of nostalgia, song and laughter can be found on March 12.
