THE South is expected to be bathed in glorious sunshine all weekend and you'll be wanting to get out and about and enjoy it.

Here's our pick of five of the best places to go to keep all the family entertained.

Let's Rock, Southampton Common, Saturday

It's a raucous celebration of the decade that fashion forgot and it's returning to Southampton Common on Saturday starring Adam Ant, Billy Ocean, Tony Hadley and Belinda Carlisle.

Expect big hair, neon, spandex, leg warmers and shoulder pads as far as the eye can see as retro festival Let's Rock Southampton returns to its usual slot.

One of 13 events across the UK, this joyous annual celebration of all things 80s offers gloriously unpretentious fun with iconic names from pop playing hit after nostalgic hit being enjoyed by a crowd of all ages, most of them dressed in their 80s finest.

Family Fun Weekend, Eastleigh Lakeside Railway, Saturday and Sunday

The green will host the Eastleigh Lakeside Play Station with toy trains and track to play with along with colouring in and other bits and bobs to keep the little ones occupied.

Mr. Wizard will also be on site all weekend, putting on magic shows throughout the day.

A driver for a £1 experience will also be on offer to the young and young a heart.

Also fill the steam engines water tanks when they're are having a break and get up close to a steam engine.

Beggars Fair, Romsey

Music, dance and street entertainment will finally return once again to Romsey when the 28th Beggars Fair takes over the town. Expect to see, hear and enjoy over 90 acts spread over 20 plus venues and all for free at Romsey’s annual Summer Music Festival.

Throughout the streets and in venues all around the town, the best of local musicians bring you an eclectic mix of folk, jazz, blues, soul, rock, bluegrass, classical and world music. Together with colourful dance displays and children’s entertainment there is plenty of entertainment on offer.

From big noisy bands on the Cornmarket main stage to intimate acoustic music in tranquil gardens and from cheerful pub sessions to spellbinding storytelling there is something for everyone.

Warsash Festival, Saturday

The Warsash Festival will return to celebrate life in the village.

Expect local stallholders and performers, static car displays and other attractions, music, food, drinks and more.

Thousands of people are expected to flock to the festival, which offers a flavour of countryside life.

The event, held every two years, sees Strawberry Field off Newtown Road transformed into a village feteand a showground for local clubs, businesses and organisations while raising money for good causes.

Visitors can enjoy displays, demonstrations and dancing.

Entry to the event, between midday and 5pm,is £2 cash on the gate.

New Forest Folk Festival

Folk rock legends Lindisfarne and singer-songwriter Ralph McTell are set to appear at the 10th New Forest Folk Festival this weekend.

The small family-run festival, which takes place with camping at Powells Farm in Plaitford, has forged a reputation for its intimate atmosphere and big-name performers.

Now attracting fans from across the UK, this year’s event will also feature Joe Broughton and his Conservatoire Folk Ensemble and a very special New Forest 10th Anniversary Band including artists Little Johnny England, TRADarrr, Fotheringay, 15 String Trio, Sandy Denny Project, and special guests.

Also performing will be Fairport Convention’s Chris Leslie and Ric Sanders as well as Rick Wakeman’s son Adam alongside Damian Wilson.
