Fraser Island Residents Watch Fires After Being Evacuated From Home

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services downgraded their “prepare to leave” order for The Oakes and Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village on K’gari on December 8, as rain fell in the region.

Water bombing aircraft helped firefighting efforts on Fraser Island on Monday, December 7, as the blaze threatened the small tourist town of Happy Valley.
