Game of Thrones season 8 ‘felt like it was written by different people’ says Osha actor Natalia Tena

Natalia Tena, who portrayed the Wildling Osha on Game of Thrones, has revealed that she disliked the show’s final season, and “ranted for an hour” after it came to a close.

Speaking to presenter Kate Thornton on her podcast White Wine Question Time, Tena said that she had enjoyed the season up until Maisie Williams’s character killed the Night King, after which she felt like it veered off-track.

“After that... I just didn’t understand it,” she explained. “The calibre of writing towards the end, and the plots, and everything that happened, and how they wrapped up, compared to any other season, any other bit, it just feels like it’s been written by different people. It doesn’t make sense for me.”

She recalled that she ended up binge-watching the remainder of the season on the houseboat she shares with her boyfriend, remembering: “I was a few glasses of wine in when I watched [the finale]. I’d binge watched the whole thing, but I ended up… my boyfriend had to leave the boat, because I was ranting for an hour at him about how much I didn’t like it. Then I rang my friend to rant to him.”

Tena portrayed Osha, one of the Free Folk living north of the Wall, for three seasons in a recurring capacity, before being killed by Ramsay Bolton during her return to the show in its sixth season.
