Glastonbury 2022: McFly and Sugababes among acts confirmed to play Avalon Stage

Glastonbury have announced the first acts set to perform on the Avalon Stage at this year’s festival.

Organisers for the Sommerset-based event shared a poster via social media on Tuesday confirming the names of the line-up.

McFly, Sugababes, Grace Petrie, Imelda May, The Damned, Hobo Jones, Oh My God! It’s The Church, and The Junkyard Dogs are just handful of the acts announced for the Field Of Avalon area at Worthy Farm.

They will be joined by The Hoosiers, Lamb, Ward Thomas, Tom Robinson Band, Dr. John Cooper Clarke, Kate Rusby and Nick Mulvey.

After the announcement, McFly were delighted to reveal it was another gig “ticked off the bucket list”.

The group - which is made up of Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd - wrote: “Another one ticked off the bucket list. We’re so excited to be playing @glastonbury on 26th June! We’ll see you there on the Avalon Stage.”

The official account also tweeted out: “Your favourite Field returns with a bang, a hug and a Welcome Home! Our lineup for June is here for you, with love from us.”

So far, over 100 acts have been announced for the world-famous festival which will take place over five days from Wednesday June 22 until Sunday June 26.

This year marks its triumphant return after two years of cancellations due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Billie Eilish has been confirmed to headline the Pyramid Stage on the Friday

Sir Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar will top the bill on the Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
