The Good Doctor star Nicholas Gonzalez has landed a brand new role in an upcoming NBC sci-fi drama titled La Brea. The show also stars Eoin Macken, Natalie Zea, Jon Seda, Veronica St. Clair, Chiké Okonkwo, Jack Martin, Zyra Gorecki and Lily Santiago.

In the new show, Gonzalez will play the role of Levi Brooks, an Air Force pilot who is recruited to lead the rescue efforts after some people fall into a sinkhole in Los Angeles.

Gonzalez played the role of Dr Melendez in The Good Doctor for three seasons and he returned briefly in season four. The medical drama entered its fourth season with a massive story after Dr Melendez died in the season three finale.

The mysterious sinkhole in La Brea opens up in the heart of Los Angeles and tears a family of four in half: the mother and son are together on one side, while the daughter and father are left on the other.
