The Good Fight and Da 5 Bloods actor Delroy Lindo has landed a major role in Amazon Prime Video's Anansi Boys series.

Adapted from the 2005 fantasy novel by author Neil Gaiman (American Gods), this six-episode show will feature Lindo as the character Mr Nancy, whose death opens up his estranged son Charlie to unimaginable possibilities.

Charlie discovers that his departed old man was in fact the god Anansi – also father to a secret son named Spider.

Production is scheduled to go ahead later this year in Scotland, with Gaiman himself showrunning alongside Douglas Mackinnon.

Sir Lenny Henry has contributed to the scripts, while Star Trek: Discovery's Hanelle M Culpepper is to direct the opening episode.

Following Lindo's casting as Mr Nancy, Gaiman shared in a statement: "Delroy Lindo is a giant of the stage and the screen, and we are so lucky to have him.
