Grammys 2019: XXXTentacion and Scott Hutchison among stars left off In Memoriam tribute list

The 2019 Grammy Awards left several notable music acts off of its In Memoriam tribute.

Rapper XXXTentacion, who was killed in June 2018, failed to make it onto the televised list alongside Frightened Rabbit frontman, Scott Hutchison.

The segment, which celebrates the musicians who died over the past year, honoured many notable industry figures, including Aretha Franklin, Avicii and Mac Miller.

However, social media users were quick to point out that there were a number of omissions, one of which was also Buzzcocks star Pete Shelley.

Richard Swift and Pegi Young were also left off the list that included Dolores O’Riordan and The Fall’s Mark E Smith, who was controversially left off last year’s list.

While XXXTentacion, Hutchison, Shelley and others were left off the televised segment, they featured as part of a longer list posted by the Recording Academy ahead of the ceremony.

This year's Grammys was an eventful ceremony that saw Dolly Parton perform a duet of “Jolene” with Miley Cyrus while Childish Gambino made history by becoming the first artist to win Song of the Year and Record of the Year with a rap song, for “This is America”.
