Great British Bake Off: Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood DON'T bake the cakes shown in technical challenge

As if The Great British Bake Off hasn’t suffered enough drama this year, fans of the show have been left outraged after it was confirmed that judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood DON’T bake the “perfect” bakes displayed ahead of the technical challenge.

It has been reported that the pair are in hair and make-up getting ready for filming whilst expert bakers whip up the cakes and delicacies in the kitchen.

Speaking to The Sun, an insider explained: “Mary and Paul have never made a single cake in the tent.

"Paul in particular often talks about what ‘we’ have done, so it will come as a shock to fans.”

Love Productions, the company behind the show, confirmed the revelation, explaining in a statement: “No, Paul and Mary don’t make the cakes. They never have.

"They are baked on the day and Paul and Mary could never do that.”

Needless to say, fans aren’t happy and have taken to social media to vent:

This year’s series of The Great British Bake Off is the final series to air on the BBC and about 15million people are expected to tune in to watch the final this Wednesday.
