Grey's Anatomy is reportedly recasting the role of Owen Hunt's sister Megan on the show.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Timeless star Abigail Spencer will take over from Bridget Regan in the role for season 14.

Regan is said to have had a scheduling conflict that rendered her unavailable to film, with Spencer taking on the role for a multi-episode arc.

Megan was revealed to be alive in season 13 after being presumed dead in a helicopter crash the previous season.

This caused tension between brother Owen (Kevin McKidd) and former boyfriend Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson), and when we did last see her, it was merely Megan's hair.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Grey's Anatomy would be bringing back Dr Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) for the upcoming season.

She was last seen in season eight after being fired by Owen, which allowed her to take her dream job at MEDCOM. However, she was spoken to on the phone during the last season by Amelia (Caterina Scorsone).

The season 13 finale saw Jerrika Hinton leave her role as Dr Stephanie Edwards after five seasons.

Grey's Anatomy airs on ABC in the US and Sky Living in the UK.
