Yahoo News Grey's Anatomy's Katherine Heigl has given birth
Congratulations to Katherine Heigl who gave birth to a baby boy over Christmas.
According to People, the Grey's Anatomy star and her husband Josh Kelly welcomed their first son, Joshua Bishop Kelley, on December 20, after Katherine had hinted at a festive birth.
"The Christmas holidays are a pretty big deal in my family and not only will we now be celebrating our baby's birthday around Christmas, Josh and I also celebrate our wedding anniversary December 23rd," she wrote on her blog Those Heavenly Things.
"So it's a month full of joy and gratitude for us for many reasons!"
Katherine and Josh are already parents to two adopted daughters, 8-year-old Naleigh and 4-year-old Adalaide.
The actress revealed she was pregnant with a sonogram photo on her Instagram last June, and expanded on her pregnancy in a blog.
"We've known for a while that we wanted to add to our family and frankly didn't really care how we chose to do that. We were considering adoption again, fostering or pregnancy if possible," Katherine explained.
"Seeing as I have never been pregnant and, as my OB/GYN reminded me last year, I'm of advanced maternal age, I wasn't sure pregnancy was even in the cards for us. Turns out it was very much in the cards."
Katherine and Josh married in 2007 in Park City, Utah and met when working together on Josh's 'Only You' music video.
Last year, she opened up about her 2008 Emmy Awards controversy that saw her withdraw herself from the race as she didn't consider her Grey's Anatomy "material" was enough "to warrant an Emmy nomination".
