Grimm star is keen to return in new female-led spin-off

From Digital Spy

Grimm may have departed our screens last year, but the news that it is now getting a female-led spin-off has delighted fans, including one of the show's original stars.

David Giuntoli, who played Nick Burkhardt on the show for six seasons, revealed he is all for the reboot, and said he is keen for an appearance on the show too.

"I could not be more thrilled that NBC is developing a Grimm spin-off," he told TV Guide. "I thought it was such a wonderful show and we built just a vibrant, colourful world.

"To not be able to play in that world any longer seems like such a waste. So I could not be happier for everyone involved in the Grimm spin-off."

Of a possible appearance, Giuntoli continued: "I just want them to roll old Nick Burkhardt, his old bag of bones, off the couch every now and again for a 'special guest star'. And hopefully the new female lead can do all the fight scenes."

The new version of Grimm is set to expand the mythology with "new dangers and epic new mysteries", and Zoo writer Melissa Glenn is working with the show's original production company on the reboot.

Grimm 2.0 will introduce new Wesen (mythological creatures) and Grimms, as well as some potentially familiar faces too.

The original version of the show aired on NBC between 2011 and 2017.
