Harrison Ford crashes Star Wars Celebration with a surprise Indiana Jones message
Star Wars Celebration was unleashed in full on Thursday in Anaheim with a star-studded panel hosted by Yvette Nicole Brown, and one very surprise guest.
The casts for Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, and Willow were all on hand. Rosario Dawson filmed a message from the set in full Ahsoka regalia. Jude Law was announced as starring in a new series set after Return of the Jedi titled Star Wars: Skeleton Crew that is a "story about a group of kids, about 10 years old, from a tiny little planet who accidentally get lost in the Star Wars galaxy," explained producer John Watts. And there was even fresh footage from season 3 of The Mandalorian that teased a return to Mandalore. So many goodies!
But fans in the convention had no idea of the surprise awaiting them when John Williams came out to conduct an orchestra to play the Obi-Wan Kenobi theme live for the first time. The famed conductor followed that up with another one of his famous themes, this one from Raiders of the Lost Ark. As if that did not excite the crowd enough, they were about to be whipped (as it were) into an absolute frenzy when who should walk out on stage but Han Solo / Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford.

"I told John on another occasion when we had a chance to be together that that music follows me everywhere I go," said Ford. "And you know what? I'm happy about it. That music was playing on the speakers of the operating room when I had my last colonoscopy. I passed."
But the actor was not just there to trade quips or take in the most awesome concert in the history of concerts. He had a little message for the crowd about a certain upcoming fifth film in a beloved franchise.
"We have almost completed the next Indiana Jones film, featuring the music of John Williams," Ford told the audience. "And I had a wonderful experience working with [director] James Mangold, with [producers] Kathy [Kennedy] and Frank [Marshall] again. I'm really proud of the movie that we made. So, I'll be seeing you around campus."
But the folks in Anaheim were not the only ones on the receiving end of an Indiana Jones treat. An official first look was also released on social media at just about the same time.
Lucasfilm Ltd.
The still untitled fifth Indiana Jones film will be released June 30, 2023, and the one thing we feel very safe predicting is that this time no fridges will be nuked along the way.
