An award-winning West End musical is set to return to Brighton as part of a UK tour.

Heathers will return to the Theatre Royal in March following a successful stint in the West End in which it won an accolade for the best new musical of 2019.

The musical, based on the 1988 film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, is now returning to the city after previously appearing in the theatre in 2021. The musical was one of the first to be held at the venue since it reopened following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Written by Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy, the musical is set in an American high school and is described as “high octane, black comedy, rock musical”.

Heathers saw much success in Los Angeles and New York before premiering in London and selling over 20,000 tickets. The musical then transferred to the West End at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

The dates in Brighton are one of ten stops for the musical on its UK Tour.

Heathers The Musical will come to the Theatre Royal in Brighton on Tuesday, March 14, until Saturday, March 18. Tickets for the show are available at ATGTickets.com.
