Congratulations are in order for two stars of the small screen, as Holby City's Camilla Arfwedson and Call the Midwife's Jack Hawkins have tied the knot.

The pair apparently met when Jack appeared on Holby a few years ago, and their nuptials came ahead of Camilla's return to the soap as Dr Zosia March.

Jack is perhaps best known for playing dentist Christopher Dockerill in the BBC midwife drama, and according to The Sun, the couple got married in secret ceremony.

Speaking of her time off from Holby, the actress told the paper: "The break was really nice as I’d been in Holby for four years.

"I wanted to try something else and we also got married. It was a low-key ceremony in London but it was really lovely. It was great. It’s nice to be back for a couple of months. I love it on Holby."

Digital Spy has reached out to Camilla's representatives for comment.

Speaking of her Holby comeback storyline, Camilla elaborated: "You find out she is pregnant. Viewers won’t know who the father is but a handsome American doctor also turns up. Everyone thinks it’s his child."

Her return was announced back in September after around two years away from the soap – though did return for one episode in 2018.

"I am really pleased to come back and revisit Zosia," she said last year. "The last few years playing her have been absolutely brilliant, wonderful and challenging in equal measure.

"[I] can't wait to see all the cast and crew again too and get back into the fold. I've missed it. Looking forward to seeing what's in store for her."
