Holby City is usually a staple of Tuesday nights, but this evening (February 9) fans will be forced to miss it.

Due to the FA Cup fifth-round fixture between Manchester United and West Ham United airing on BBC One, this week's episode will instead air on Wednesday (February 10) – and the show's stars have helpfully sent out a video to remind us all (above).

The likes of David Ames (Dominic Copeland), Dawn Steele (Ange Godard), Bob Barrett (Sacha Levy) and Alex Walkinshaw (Fletch) are all seen saying "Wednesday" to the camera in the brief clip – so you now have no excuse.

Holby isn't the only soap to be affected by the football this week, with EastEnders not airing tonight either.

This week's episode of Holby City is certainly packed, with faces old and new popping up and lives changing forever.

Among them is Jodie, who will give Sacha the shock of his life when she turns up at the hospital and also drops a big bombshell.

Sahira Shah will also return to the fold to replace Jac Naylor following the latter's departure, while new nurse Kylie is set to be introduced this week, proving the doubters wrong when dealing with a patient.

Meanwhile, Holby City star Laila Rouass has revealed that her real-life partner Ronnie O'Sullivan was turned down to help film intimate scenes amid COVID-19 protocols.

"So they bring in somebody that's in your bubble and just cut away," Laila, who plays Sahira, explained. "So I was like 'oh yeah Ronnie can come', and they looked at his pictures and they said 'no no, he's just too hairy – we're never going to be able to match them'.

"So he didn't come in in the end. I think it would have been fun to have him as a supporting artist. I think it's the Italian [in him]."

Holby City continues tomorrow (February 10) at 8.20pm on BBC One.
