Hollyoaks star Joe Tracini has shared a powerful message to those struggling with their mental health.

The actor, who played Dennis Savage in the Channel 4 soap, took to Twitter on Thursday (June 18) to offer some helpful words to anyone having suicidal thoughts.

In a video of him standing in the countryside, Joe opened up about his recent struggles and how the slightest of changes to his usual routine had prompted the urge to take his own life.

He shared that the feeling stayed with him for six to seven hours, but stressed the importance of telling a friend or family member and 'waiting' for that moment to pass.

"If you're like me, and you're thinking about killing yourself, please don't," he said. "Please wait. You will remember how it feels to feel something else.

"If you've got friends or family, tell one of them. I know it's not an easy thing to say or hear, but I know that my family would rather me tell them that I'm thinking about killing myself than try to."

Joe has been outspoken about his mental health struggles on numerous occasions. In a video shared in January this year, he explained what it's like living with Emotional Unstable Personality Disorder (also known as BPD).
