Hollywood actor Joely Richardson has been spotted filming at the Bodleian Library this week.

Lucie Johnson caught some impressive pictures of cast and crew at work on Monday and Tuesday.

Ms Johnson, who shared her images on the Oxford Mail Camera Club Facebook page, commented: "Something interesting is being filmed at the Bodleian yesterday and today They wouldn't tell us what is was though... "

Other posters said that judging by the costumes it could be The Ballad of Renegade Nell for Disney +.

They then spotted it was Ms Redgrave.

Ms Redgrave, who is the daughter of director Tony Richardson and Vanessa Redgrave, starred in Disney's remake of the classic 101 Dalmatians as well as The Tudors, Wetherby, The Fever, Anonymous and Nip/Tuck.

The Ballad of Renegade Nell is a swashbuckling new action and fantasy adventure series from BAFTA-award-winning writer and executive producer Sally Wainwright who wrote Gentleman Jack and Happy Valley.

The original Disney + series stars Ms Richardson, Louisa Harland, Nick Mohammed and Adrian Lester.

Disney + have been contacted for comment.
