Home and Away newcomer teases arrival of "arrogant" Logan Bennett

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away newcomer Logan Bennett is thrown in at the deep end as he arrives in Summer Bay, with the doctor being called in to help deal with a horror accident.

Australian fans have already seen actor Harley Bonner make his debut as Logan, but UK viewers will be introduced to him next week as he arrives in an air ambulance to treat Dean Thompson (Patrick O'Connor), Mia Anderson (Anna Samson) and Nikau Parata (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) after their car crash.

When Logan arrives at Northern Districts Hospital with Dean, he ends up clashing with fellow doctor Tori Morgan (Penny McNamee) over Dean's treatment in front of the other staff, leaving Tori furious.

Actor Harley has teased that his "arrogant" new character may be forced to reassess his behaviour as he settles into life in the Bay, suggesting that there is a lot more to Logan than initially meets the eye.

"Logan is a bit of a medical cowboy," he said. "He'll probably come across as entitled and arrogant. He might have to get used to relinquishing a little control."

"I'd describe Logan as a bit of a nomad," he added. "He's seen and done a lot already which he tries his best to avoid delving into. I'm intrigued as to what we'll discover as time goes on."

Logan has clearly been in some difficult situations in his career, having worked as a trauma surgeon in the military and as an emergency medical responder, and Harley reveals that his character "carries his experience very closely".

So what keeps the doctor in Summer Bay after his work at the crash site is complete? According to Harley, the experience with Dean may cause Logan to start looking at his career in a slightly different light.

"After the accident, Logan's life-saving intervention brings him to the Northern District hospital and it gives him a real and tantalising taste of what it's like to follow his patients through from start to finish," he explained.

"He's usually long gone before they wake up, so this is a brand new playing field for him and he becomes intertwined within the Summer Bay community."

What Logan will get up to in the Bay remains to be seen but for Harley, who previously played Neighbours' Josh Willis, being back in the soap world has been a dream opportunity.

"It's been a lot of fun and everyone has welcomed me with open arms, the cast and crew. It has been challenging but in a great way," he said, adding that it is "so exciting" to be playing Logan.

"I am so grateful to have the opportunity to take on the role of Logan. He is such a well-written character," he continued. "And I am looking forward to seeing how he develops."
