Home and Away star Harley Bonner teases dramatic rescue scenes

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away star Harley Bonner has spoken to Digital Spy about the dramatic scenes ahead for his character Logan Bennett when the show returns to UK screens next week.

Fans were left on a huge cliffhanger in November, as the show's UK finale saw Tane Parata's stalker endanger all of the guests at Martha Stewart's mental health event.

Tane's unknown enemy spiked his drink at the local gym, knocking him unconscious. The mystery villain then set up a chemical sprayer to unleash a toxic substance, which made its way into Salt through the air vents in the building.

When the show returns next week, rescue teams arrive and pull Tane (Ethan Browne) out of the building. Despite a risk of cross-contamination, Logan and Jasmine Delaney (Sam Frost) step in to treat Tane at the scene.

Harley told Digital Spy: "It was really exciting to film the high-stakes scenes at Salt. It's not your typical day in the Bay and there were lots of big fire trucks.

"It's amazing to film dramatic scenes like this. It gives Logan and myself a real sense of purpose in the emergency scenes. It's a fun balance to find between the professional and jovial human. The scale slides. I enjoy it thoroughly.

"The difference for Logan now that he's treating friends and neighbours is that, coming from a trauma surgery background, he isn't used to seeing his patients months after he treats them. So there are adjustments he has to make. He's definitely not unaffected."

He continued: "I'm sure Logan considers the risk to himself before treating Tane, but he is certainly not a risk-averse individual, he might even be the opposite.

"He doesn't seem to give much thought to his own wellbeing in any circumstances."

Later at the hospital, Logan continues to oversee Tane's emergency treatment. When Tane flatlines, Logan is relentless in attempting to get his heart beating again – despite Jasmine advising that he should call a time of death.

Harley added: "Logan isn't a fan of failure, and he cares deeply for people. He couldn't live with the 'what if?'"

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR (UK), with first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
