Honest Kids Return Wallet Along With All $700 That Was Inside

Confronted with a situation that would have put even the best behaved kid into an ethical dilemma, some Colorado youngsters chose to do the right thing.

Riding by an Aurora home on their bikes recently, Haylie Wenke, 13, her brother Reagan Wenke, 6, and their friend spotted a wallet in the driveway.

Inside the wallet was $700. But, instead of pocketing the hefty sum, these kids marched right up to the homeowner's door with the intention of giving it back.

No one was home, but a home surveillance system was there to capture video of the good deed.

"We found your wallet outside of your car and we just thought we would give it back to you," one of the kids tells the camera before hiding it safely away on the front porch. "I'm gonna put it over here so no one takes any money."

Thanks to the kids, no one did.

Turns out, all that cash was Nigel Drake's pay from his job as a bartender.

“I watched the video, and it was just these nice three kids that just decided to do the nice thing,” Drake told KUSA. “It was very heartening to feel.”

As of Saturday morning, the surveillance video had been viewed a quarter of a million times on Facebook.

Drake said he's trying to think of a good reward for the kids.
