I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Jill Scott had to have her ear syringed after a cockroach became lodged inside.

The 35-year-old footballer took part in the latest trial, Scareground's Lucky Dip, which saw her locked in a spinning cage filled with bugs.

As the trial ended Scott shouted: "There's a cockroach right in my ear! I’ve just got a cockroach stuck in my ear."

While she was waiting Scott joked: " 'Come to the jungle' they said. 'It'll would be fun…' "

As a medic syringed water into the Lioness's ear in a bid to flush out the insect, she quipped: "It's now in my brain... Did you get it?"

McPartlin said: “Jill, that was bigger than the one Fatima Whitbread had up her nose!”

Olympic athlete Fatima Whitbread, 61, took part in I'm A Celebrity in 2011 and had a cockroach flushed out of her nose after a trial.

Afterwards Scott said: “I can hear now! Right, how did we do? It wasn't the best fair I've ever been to."

Scott was picked out of the tombola to enjoy the prize of a beach barbecue, along with MP Matt Hancock and Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver.

McPartlin said: "You deserve that after having a cockroach in your ear."

They were taken by helicopter to eat steak, prawns and salad next to the sea.

Back in the camp, comedian Seann Walsh fumed: “Matt is having an absolute holiday here. Sat in that chair, has a sleep in that bed, then goes to the beach for the day.”

Boy George added: “Can I just cut you off there, at the end of the day he still has to be Matt Hancock.”

Later, as the other campmates ate their evening meal of eel, red cabbage and rice Hancock said: "I know this sounds weird, but if there's any leftovers, any veg, I'll have it."
