Former soap queen Danielle Harold has been named as one of the campmates in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! 2023.

The actor will join Nigel Farage, Britney Spears' baby sister Jamie Lynn Spears, Josie Gibson and a galaxy of stars in the snake-infested jungle in Oz.

But what is she best known for and how does she feel about going into the jungle?

Who is Danielle Harold?

Actor Danielle Harold, 31, has been a regular fixture on soap viewers' screens since 2011, but what fans might not remember is her early appearance in a Channel 4 reality show.

When she was 18, Harold took part in Jamie's Dream School, a documentary where chef Jamie Oliver recruited a team of celebrities and well known experts to teach a group of teens with fewer than five GCSEs.

Harold was one of them, and was even given a tour of Cambridge University by historian David Starkey who thought she could do well there, before she decided to pursue acting.

She's also lined up to appear in Celebrity Hunted in 2024.

What is Danielle Harold best known for?

EastEnders fans will be pleased to see Harold back on screen each night after her heartbreaking exit from the BBC soap earlier this year.

Harold played Lola Pearce from 2011 to 2015 and then returned to Albert Square in 2019 - but was cruelly written out when her character was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour.

Fans wept during her final months in Walford as Lola married Jay Brown and made precious memories with daughter Lexi, before passing away at home with Jay and Lexi beside her.

Harold said of doing I'm A Celebrity: "It’s definitely going to be nice to be myself and just have fun. The parts I have been playing have involved heavy stuff and to just be me is exciting."

But she added: "I am single and no I am not looking for love! It’s been a crazy, crazy year and so why not top it off with the craziest thing ever by doing this?"

Harold, who picked up trophies at the TRIC Awards, the National Television Awards and the Inside Soap Awards for her final EastEnders storyline, said: "It has been the weirdest year of my life but I am really looking forward to this now. It’s going to be so exciting."

What are Danielle Harold's biggest jungle worries?

While Harold says she wants to shrug off misconceptions of her as a ditsy blonde and will give any challenge a go, she's made the rookie I'm A Celeb error of picking out a specific fear - rats.

She can probably expect to be thrown straight into a rodent-filled challenge as she said: "It’s going to be interesting to see how I face up to my fears. I particularly don’t like rats.

"I have seen rats out in London and I hate them. It’s the thought of their teeth. People say they won’t harm me but I am like, ‘Have they been to the dentist?!’ I am so scared of them."

Harold is also bracing for the lack of food as she said: "I love snacking and rather than weaning myself off them in the run up, I have gone the opposite way.

"I have been drinking tons of cola instead of a little and rather than one cup of tea in the morning – which I love – I’ve been drinking three cups!"

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! begins on ITV at 9pm on Sunday.
