The Incredibles 2 teaser trailer sets record for animated films

Pixar has a surefire hit on their hands with forthcoming sequel The Incredibles 2 considering its brand new teaser trailer has just smashed one hell of an impressive record.

Released 13 years after the Oscar-winning original hit cinemas, the teaser has become the most-viewed animated trailer debut of all time with 113 million views and counting.

These figures put it as the seventh most-viewed trailer debut of all time.

The brief clip barely reveals anything with regards to plot, but it unites fans with baby Jack-Jack enjoying his new superpowers to the surprise of his father, Bob Parr (Craig T. Nelson).

Disney-Pixar announced the sequel in March 2014 and, despite originally set for release in 2019, was switched with Toy Story 4 to be the animated studio's next film after Coco which will hit cinemas in January 2018.

The new film picks up where the first left off with Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson and Sarah Vowell all returning alongside director Brad Bird.

The Incredibles 2 is out in cinemas on 15 June 2018.
