Chris Evans and James Blunt gate-crashed the 'This Morning' Christmas lunch.

The brunchtime show's regular co-hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield came together with the likes of the programme's Friday co-hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond, and 'This Morning' reporters and presenters Gok Wan, Lisa Snowdon and Rochelle Humes, among others, on Tuesday (06.12.22) at James' London pub The Fox and Pheasant in Chelsea.

After radio DJ Chris and singer James gate-crashed the party, everyone belted out a rendition of festive tune 'O Come, All Ye Faithful', but Phil revealed the "wheels came off" later into the bash.

Speaking on today's 'This Morning' after playing a recording of the performance, Phil said: "I think that actually came together very well. It was only a little bit later that the wheels came off."

Chris then appeared on today's show, via video link, while finishing off his 'The Chris Evans Breakfast Show', which he hosts on Virgin Radio UK, and the star admitted he has been feeling "a bit shabby" this morning.

He said: "We had such a good time. I know you said we gate-crashed the party, which we did, but ['This Morning' editor] Martin Frizell said, 'Come and gate-crash the party.' Honestly, he asked us to gate-crash it.

"Then, because I had the tequila blinkers on I didn't know anybody was filming it and I woke up this morning at 4am and I had all these messages going, 'What the heck went on last night between you lot and 'This Morning' yesterday afternoon?' And I went, 'Ahh.'

"Everything is a bit shabby this morning, Phil. You know how it goes."
