Jarvis Cocker and Bez join Bargain Hunt for BBC Music Day

Jarvis Cocker could be coming to an antiques fair near you. Today it was announced that as part of BBC Music Day Pulp rocker Jarvis Cocker will take part in a special episode of BBC daytime telly institution Bargain Hunt.

Jarvis will compete with fellow Pulp band member Candida Doyle against Happy Mondays’ Bez and Rowetta Idah.

Bargain Hunt is a daytime BBC One show that pits two pairs of teams against one another at an antique fair or shop. They are given a set budget and sent out to find their bargains. They then attempt to sell their items at an auction and whichever team makes the biggest profit wins.

BBC Music Day will takes place 28 September this year and will also see pop singer Kylie Minogue take over train announcements at stations across the country.

BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour is set to host a ‘Women in Music Power List’ paying homage to the top 40 most influential and celebrated women in the music industry today.

And finally there will be a special episode of game show Pointless which contestants will include music artists Lianne La Havas, Amy Macdonald, Leslie Garrett and Ella Eyre.
