Jeff Hardy: Professional wrestler arrested and facing charges of driving under the influence

Professional wrestler Jeff Hardy has been arrested in Florida and faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to authorities.

Police stopped the 44-year-old on Monday morning after Florida Highway Patrol received phone calls about an impaired driver in Volusia County, Orlando.

He is also facing charges of driving while a licence was revoked and violating the restrictions placed on his driving licence.

The former WWE star, who lives in North Carolina, has been released on bond after paying $3,500 (£2,900).

According to court records he did not have an attorney listed for him.

Hardy, who is currently signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has captured six world championships and has often teamed up with his brother. The duo are known as The Hardy Boyz.

He was scheduled to be part of Wednesday night's episode of AEW Dynamite with his brother against The Young Bucks and Jurassic Express for the tag team championships.

The professional wrestler is the 18th Triple Crown Champion and 9th Grand Slam Champion in WWE history.
