Jennie McAlpine is pregnant with her third child.

The 38-year-old 'Coronation Street' actress and her husband Chris Farr - who already have Albert, eight, and Hilda, four, together - will welcome a new addition to their family later this year.

Jennie, who is six months pregnant, revealed she found out about her pregnancy at five weeks, while on a camping trip with her family.

She told OK! magazine: "It just feels really nice. We're so over the moon. The thought of adding to our family mix and chaos was the best Christmas present. I'm really excited for 2023 - it'll be a special one."

Jennie - who has played Fiz Brown in 'Coronation Street' for 21 years - admitted the new baby's name will most likely be inspired by the soap because she doesn't know how to "avoid it", as her daughter Hilda's name is an ode to 'Corrie' favourite Hilda Ogden.

She said: "With Albert and Hilda, we had the name, but when they were born, we were like, ‘That’s the one'.

"It just kind of happened, so I think it’ll probably be the same. Hilda was a family name for us and we loved it, but Hilda Ogden is an absolute icon and I am a big fan, so I love that it is a nod to that. Jean Alexander, who played Hilda, sadly died before Hilda was born.

“I can probably guarantee whatever the name we choose, it will have been a character in 'Corrie' – I don’t know how to avoid it!”

And Jennie revealed the kids are very excited about a new sibling.

She said: "They had talked about wanting [a sibling] before. We had a scan and then showed the pictures to Albert and Hilda after school – they’re really excited. From day one [they’ve been] touching my tummy and talking to the baby. They talk to the baby every day! Albert was like, ‘OK, there’s another kid coming into this house. There’ll be even more sharing that’s going to have to happen.’”

Jennie has no plans to find out the gender of the tot until its born, saying: "It feels like our way to do it. Girl, boy – it’s not relevant! I’ve got two little humans that are very different from each other, but I’m not sure they’re different because they’re a girl and a boy."

And, she hasn't ruled out having a fourth child.

She said: "That programme, '22 Kids And Counting' – I totally get it. I love being pregnant, I love babies and I love being a mum to the kids and each stage. It feels right and being a mum is my favourite job in the world."
