Jennifer Ellison has been rushed to hospital and put on a drip after falling ill.

The 38-year-old star took to social media to post a picture of her hand with a cannula attached, as she told her followers she was "back again”.

Fans were quick to respond, sending their love and wishing the mum-of-three a speedy recovery.

Jennifer - who played Emily Shadwick for five years in Channel 4 soap 'Brookside' - has recently been filming survival show 'SAS: Who Dares Win' alongside 13 other celebrities.

The Channel 4 reality show is set to air in 2022 and the line-up includes the likes of Ashley Cain, Fatima Whitbread, Amber Gill, Curtis Pritchard and Maisie Smith.

Former model Jennifer has previously taken part in other reality shows. She was a contestant on 'Dancing on Ice' in 2012, where she made it all the way to the semi-finals.

While on the show, she sliced her scalp open as she attempted to do a scorpion kick, and paramedics were rushed to the scene.

Jennifer - who is married to boxer Robbie Tickle - has also starred on the West End in multiple musicals, such as ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ and ‘Chicago’.

What's more, she was rushed to hospital back in 2017, after suffering a life threatening allergic reaction.

She went into anaphylactic shock after consuming peanuts causing her throat to close up and leaving her unable to breathe.

The star shared her ordeal on Facebook, writing at the time: "Had one of the scariest nights ever! Had an annaphallacttic reaction to peanuts! Been eating them for 33 years (sic)"
