Yahoo News Jennifer Metcalfe makes post-baby red carpet return
Jennifer Metcalfe turned heads as she walked the red carpet at the Inside Soap Awards today (November 6).
The Hollyoaks star was making one of her first public appearances since welcoming her baby son with former Geordie Shore star Greg Lake over the summer.
Metcalfe looked fab in a shimmering black pantsuit at she posed for photographers at London's Hippodrome Casino, ahead of the annual awards show getting under way.
The 35-year-old actress went into the evening with a nomination in the Sexiest Female category for her portrayal of Mercedes McQueen in the Channel 4 soap. However, Emmerdale's Natalie J Robb ultimately took home the award for playing Moira Dingle.
Jennifer has stayed away from the public eye since she and her partner of four years welcomed their son in June. Later, she revealed that she'd decided two years earlier to name her first child Daye Colmic Lake.
"I made it up on the way up to Newcastle about two years ago," she explained to OK! Magazine in August.
"We weren't trying for a baby – we never spoke about kids until we really wanted him – but we knew it would happen one day. I just stored the name until then."

Rather creatively, Jennifer chose the middle name Colmic because it is an amalgamation of Colin and Mick – the names of her and Greg's fathers.
"My dad was called Colin and Greg's dad is Mick," she said. "Greg quite likes having the dads' names carry on and I'm not a fan of more than one middle name. I wanted something original."
Mission accomplished! Jennifer has been a mainstay on Channel 4's Hollyoaks as Mercedes McQueen for the past 11 years.
