Yahoo News Joe McFadden really wants to be in ITV's Benidorm
Holby City star Joe McFadden turned his attention to reality TV last year with Strictly Come Dancing and it turned out very well for him – what with him taking home the glitterball trophy and all.
But now he wants to turn his attention to doing comedy, and one show in particular.
"A role on Benidorm would be fab," he told The Mirror. "It's a great show and I am very much a fan.
"Benidorm would be much easier than saying doctors' lines and medical terms. Sitting by the pool drinking sangria would be much more preferable."
And he has ideas about what kind of role he could have, and how he could go about getting the job.
"Me and Katya [Jones, his Strictly dancing partner] could go and be the entertainers in the Solana Hotel," he said, while joking that his friend Tony Maudsley (who plays Kenneth the hairdresser) could give him a job.
Benidorm will be returning for its 10th series on ITV in February, with plenty of cast including Shane Richie making a return.
The broadcaster recently denied that it will end the popular show after the upcoming run, and a decision won't be made until series 10 actually begins airing.
