Singer Joss Stone has opened up her childhood home in the Devonshire countryside to holidaymakers, with prices starting at £1,325 for a week’s stay.

Listed on a local holiday rentals website, the property sleeps 10 and is billed as “a fabulous rural retreat”.

Stone, who was catapulted to fame at 16 for her debut album, The Soul Sessions, grew up in the house as a teenager and bought the property for £625,000 from her parents in 2007.

“My house in Devon has been home for most of my life,” she told The Times. “When you’ve lived in a house for a long time, it feels like that house becomes part of who you are.”

Stone’s family home has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a large garden with access to the river nearby. Inside, wooden floors and exposed beams give the house a country feel, along with the Aga and farmhouse table in the kitchen and wood-burner in the living room.

Earlier this year, the country kitchen was featured on an episode of ITV’s Lorraine in which the singer cooked a vegan corn chowder.

Guests staying at the home will also be able to play Stone’s grand piano, located on the ground floor.

Other highlights include the stained-glass feature by the property’s wooden staircase, and an upstairs bedroom which has a hand-crafted Caesar bed, terrace with views over the countryside and Mediterranean style ensuite, featuring a large, round, tiled bath and a rustic wooden sink.

Three of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms — one also has a statement roll-top bath.

In the garden, there are seating areas and a barbecue, designed for alfresco dining.

“As soon as I have time off, I’ll go straight to my favourite place in the world, my home in Devon,” said Stone in an interview in 2012. “There is a forest just up the road, and the smell is so clean and fresh…The days go by so fast and I sleep so much better. It is so quiet.”

Stone has since settled in Nashville with her husband Cody DaLuz and their daughter Violet. She is currently pregnant with their second child. The couple also own a property in the Bahamas.

Stone won ITV’s The Masked Singer in 2021, disguised as a portion of chips and a sausage. She is still producing music, and, despite currently doing shows, has announced plans to stop touring in future to concentrate on her family.

Despite only being listed recently, the property seemed to be booked up for much of 2023 already.
