Similarly to last year's Thor: Ragnarok, Jurassic World has cut a scene confirming that a female character is LGBTQ+, according to one of the film's stars.

Daniella Pineda has been talking to Yahoo! Movies about the latest film in the dinosaur franchise and revealed that her character, paleo-veterinarian Dr Zia Rodriguez, is lesbian.

The actress said: "[In the scene] I look at Chris and I'm like, 'Yeah, square jaw, good bone structure, tall, muscles. I don't date men, but if I did, it would be you. It would gross me out, but I'd do it'.

Omg we haven’t seen each other in months!!!

"I love that I'm looking at Chris Pratt, the hottest guy in the world, and I'm like, 'It would gross me out, but I guess I would do it!'

"It was also cool, because it was a little insight into my character. But they cut it."

Daniella added that the scene was cut "for the sake of time" and "wasn't relevant to the story".

Just playn it cool at my premiere.😎

While Daniella might have a point about her character's sexuality not having anything to do with dinosaurs running around, fans are getting a bit miffed with LGBTQ+ characters only having their orientation confirmed in interviews (here's looking at you, Albus Dumbledore).

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was released on June 6 in the UK, and will be released on June 22 in the US. Book your tickets here.
