Justin Bieber booed as he storms off stage in Manchester

Justin Bieber sensationally dropped his microphone and stormed off stage in Manchester last night after asking fans to stop screaming during the gaps between performing his hit songs.

According to fans, the 22-year-old Canadian pop singer attempted to silence the crowd during the last three shows in the northwest city as part of his Purpose world tour.

Justin explained: “I appreciate all the support, I appreciate love, I appreciate the kind things. But the screaming in these breaks has got to stop. I don’t think it’s necessary when I’m trying to say something and you guys are screaming.”

However when his loyal legion of Beliebers refused to hold their tongues to allow him to talk, he dropped his microphone and exited the stage, prompting some fans to boo his dramatic gesture.

Facing some almighty backlash, some ticketholders blasted the star on social media, with one tweeting: “Your really having a go at the Manchester crowd for screaming? Of course they’re gonna scream IT’S A CONCERT (sic).”

Rethinking his actions, Justin returned to the stage a few minutes later, explaining: “I feel like I wanna connect with you. The point of the no screaming thing is that when I’m looking at you in the eyes you know that we’re actually having a moment and having a connection.”

He told the crowd they were “awesome” but after realising they were still screaming he added: “I’m just going to quite the talking alright. I’m not going to talk the rest of the night. We’re just doing to do the music.”

The Love Yourself singer then reached peak diva and declared: “Obviously Manchester just can’t handle it so let’s do the music.”

After videos of the controversial concert circulated across social media, some fans jumped to defend Bieber’s actions, claiming that he didn’t deserve the negative reaction.

One fan wrote: “I just want tonights show to be over for him already my heart is breaking that theyre soo disrespectful like that! PurposeTourManchester (sic).”

As another added: “I’m ashamed to be from Manchester. I’m sorry for how you were treated here and hope it hasn’t put you off coming back!”

But is it too late now to say sorry?
