Kardashian clinic visit investigated by Dubai authorities

Dubai authorities are reportedly investigating a centre for disabled children after it hosted a visit by Kim Kardashian West without government approval.

According to state-owned newspaper Emarat al Youm, authorities are concerned about the reality TV star's visit to the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre "without obtaining prior written approval by competent authorities".

According to a government decree, such centres are prohibited to receive "non-governmental donations in any form, fundraising or advertising".

Kardashian visited the centre on 16 January, distributing to the children T-shirts bearing her face.

"My favorite part of the trip was visiting Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre," she wrote on Twitter this Sunday, followed by a picture of her with the children.

"These beautiful children showed me a performance of a lifetime!"

According to the newspaper, authorities are now investigating the centre, and said the Ministry of Community Development "has formed a special committee to look into Kardashian's visit".

"The ministry considers such activities to be of personal use, with no educational benefits that can clearly benefit the children," minister Bin Sulaiman was reported saying.

"There are a number of penalties carried out by the ministry in the event of non-compliance with rules and regulations governing the work of the Special handicapped centers," she said.

If proven any wrongdoing, the Rashid Paedriatic Therapy Centre could be forced to pay a fine.

Kim Kardashian travelled to Dubai last week to give a makeup class.

It was her first major public appearance since being robbed at gunpoint during the Paris Fashion Week in October.
