Kate Beckinsale has shot down rumours that she and Jamie Foxx are more than friends after the two of them were pictured together at a Hollywood Foreign Press Association and The Hollywood Reporter event on Thursday.

Beckinsale, 46, took to Instagram to put any suggestion of a romance between the pair to bed as she shared a picture of her standing between Foxx, 51, and actor Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje and confronted the speculation in her typically humorous style.

She captioned the photo: "Lads night at #hfpa party with @therealadewale @iamjamiefoxx and @jsauluck. I would like to point out that standing next to someone does not mean I am dating them.

"Currently in line at the dry cleaners and if that’s true I’ve got a hell of a problem."

It comes after Beckinsale's divorce from ex-husband Len Wiseman was finalised earlier this month, four years after their split.

The two were wed in May 2004 and split up in November 2015, with Wiseman filing for divorce in October 2016.

It was reported that Beckinsale granted her request to keep her jewellery and personal effects, as well earnings after the date of separation and that both parties had waived their right to spousal support.

They had originally met when Beckinsale was cast by Wiseman as the star of vampire action movie Underworld in 2003.

At the time, she was in a long-term relationship with actor Michael Sheen, with whom she shares a 20-year-old daughter, Lily Mo Sheen.

Meanwhile, Foxx was said to have split from his girlfriend Katie Holmes earlier in the year after being in a very private relationship for six years.
