Keeping Faith, the English-language version of Welsh legal drama Un Bore Mercher, returned to BBC One tonight (March 27) for its third and final series, and it's not off to the best start.

Episode one had a fair few things going on as Faith (Eve Myles) kept getting silent calls and hang-ups from an unknown number. Her home life is a mess as well, as she's struggling through a custody battle with Evan (Bradley Freegard) over her teenagers, who are properly acting out.

She's also been called into a potentially incendiary case where a father wants a hospital to operate on his son, despite them stating he has a slim chance of survival, and will likely be severely brain damaged if he does.

Plus, her former love interest Steve (Mark Lewis Jones) pops back up and, although she wants nothing to do with him, he convinces Faith to get in the car and speak to his 'friend' about something 'important'.

That person turns out to be Celia Imrie, and although it hasn't been revealed who she is playing (in the English version at least, if you've seen the Welsh version you'll know, the last five minutes see the two meet and Faith gets very angry about it indeed.

While it sounds like a lot happened, the pacing of the episode seemed to turn off the majority of the viewers, although some people appreciated how it took the time to set things up.

Keeping Faith series 3 airs Saturday nights at 9pm on BBC One, while all episodes are available now on iPlayer.
