Eve Myles’s performance in Keeping Faith has been a highlight of this year’s TV. She stars opposite her real-life husband, Bradley Freegard. This is what makes her tick.

Tell us a London secret?

There is terrible incriminating CCTV of me out there from 5am antics in Soho.

Best thing a cabbie has said to you?

A cabbie who loved Killing Eve recently gave me a hug and apologised that her breasts felt hard. It was because she carried her crystals in there. She emptied her bra and all these pink crystals came out. I don’t know why I didn’t take her number.

Favourite joke?

Nobody finds this funny except for one of my best friends because I’ve told it to her so many times. Why did the spaceship fall out of the sky? Because it was s***.

Best place for a first date?

A curry house I know in St James for a big old Ruby Murray. If you can’t have a curry with someone they are not right for you.

What’s the most romantic thing someone has done for you?

The small things, like when I come home from work and there is a nice bath run and a dinner in the oven.

Did you enjoy making A Very English Scandal?

It was a hoot. The director Stephen Frears told me and Ben Whishaw off because we kept roaring with laughter.

What scares you?

If I couldn’t see my daughters every day.

Desert-island disc?

Walk the Line by Johnny Cash. I think I can dance but my husband says I throw 90s shapes.

How did you meet your husband?

Through drama when I was 16. We were friends for five years first — it was a slow burn.

Dream role?

Joan of Arc.

The finale of Keeping Faith airs on Thursday on BBC One and is available on DVD from September 3.
