The forthcoming Magnum P.I. reboot hasn't been at the top of everyone's watch list so far, but that hasn't stopped actors Ken Jeong and Carl Weathers jumping on board.

CBS' ambitious project has Suicide Squad actor Jay Hernandez filling the title role, but his lack-of-moustache is already concerning fans of the classic Tom Selleck classic.

Fortunately, we now have two additional cast members to help build up the anticipation.

Jeong is set to guest star as Lee Ji-Won, a local old-school private investigator who dabbles in poker with Hernandez's Magnum, according to Entertainment Weekly. (Whether or not he can bring those unhinged Leslie Chow sensibilities from The Hangover to the surface is another question, but here's hoping.)

As for the second new cast member, Weathers, whose charisma was one of the finest aspects of the Rocky franchise, will play Dan, an old-school marine who's struggling to pay his way as a fisherman.

According to EW, Dan asks Magnum for help in finding a 350-pound tuna that has been stolen from him, and which is worth is somewhere around the $350,000 mark.

The new series will follow Hernandez's Magnum as he returns from Afghanistan and repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator.

Magnum P.I. executive producer Peter Lenkov has also confirmed that the remake will feature a crossover episode with his other show Hawaii Five-O, paving the way for Magnum to meet up with Alex O'Loughlin's Steve McGarrett.

"The plan is to ultimately introduce those two characters, have them in a crossover episode, and at least have them know of each other," Lenkov explained at Comic-Con. "That's the fun of the fact they are both ex-Navy Seals."

Magnum P.I. is due to premiere this autumn on CBS.
