Yahoo News Lady Amelia & Lady Eliza Walk the Red Carpet in All-Black at the Cannes Film Festival
Charles Spencer’s twin daughters, Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza, just followed in Princess Diana’s footsteps.
This week, Princess Diana’s 29-year-old nieces attended an exclusive screening of Top Gun: Maverick at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. The duo walked the red carpet alongside several famous faces, including Julia Roberts (who brought the house down in a stunning Chopard necklace), Anne Hathaway, Viola Davis, Elle Fanning and—of course—the film’s star, Tom Cruise. (Note: This screening is different than the London one that Prince William and Kate Middleton were seen at.)
Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza wore coordinating black dresses that represented each of their personal styles. Amelia donned a one-shoulder gown with pleats and accessorized with a ring and earrings, which featured diamond and emerald jewels.
Eliza wore a bedazzled gown with a halter-style neckline and completed the look with flashy heels, diamond earrings and a bracelet—all of which complemented the sparkly dress. While Amelia styled her hair in a slicked bun, Eliza opted for a straight style that was combed away from her face.
Their appearance is nostalgic for some royal aficionados because it took place exactly 35 years after their late aunt, Princess Diana, attended the 1987 Cannes Film Festival alongside her ex-husband, Prince Charles. At the time, the royal wore a blue strapless dress with a matching scarf.
We have no doubt Princess Diana would be proud of Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza.
