American Gods has already garnered a reputation for being unashamedly sexy, and this latest teaser for episode 4 shows no signs of shying away from the topic.

(And that's even when death's involved.)

In our first look at the next episode, we see Laura Moon (Emily Browning) return from the dead to visit ex-best mate Audrey Burton (Betty Gilpin), as they discuss all-things adultery and afterlife.

And considering Laura died with Robbie's 'cock in her mouth' (that's Audrey's husband), let's just say it's not the most friendly of reunions for the two...

But if that's exactly the kind of scandal you've come to know and love from the series, then you're in luck – because American Gods has officially been renewed for a second season.

Starz announced that they would be re-upping its Neil Gaiman adaptation for another year last week, just two episodes in to its debut run.

The live-action adaptation of Gaiman's novel sees Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, an ex-con spirited away by the mysterious Mr. Wednesday to unite the Old Gods for a coming war.

But it's not just the notion of war and re-worked mythology that has captivated viewers. It's sex, too.

Talking about the explicit, and now iconic, sex scene in last Sunday's (May 14) episode 'Head Full of Snow', showrunner Bryan Fuller said he wanted Salim and the djinn to have a "romantic" tryst.

"We felt like the djinn, in this romantic gesture, wanted to give him a more intimate sexual experience. We wanted it to be incredibly visual and gorgeous.

"We wanted those things not to be lurid, but to be beautiful and captivating and for heterosexuals to watch the love scene between these two men and not go, 'Ew' but go, 'That's gorgeous'."

American Gods airs on Starz in the US and Amazon Prime in the UK.
