Law & Order's upcoming spin-off Organized Crime has added Bones star Tamara Taylor to its cast.

The new show will see the return of Christopher Meloni's Elliot Stabler – and it looks like it will be bringing in someone who knows a thing or two about forensics.

Well, in the world of Bones that is, as Taylor is perhaps best known for playing the head of the Jeffersonian Institute's Forensics Division, Camille 'Cam' Saroyan, on the former Fox show.

Who she'll be playing in Law & Order is a mystery at this point (via Deadline), though she joins recently-announced new cast member Dylan McDermott on the upcoming series.

Alongside Meloni, Organized Crime is also bringing back Olivia Benson to the fold with the return of Mariska Hargitay, and the show will mark the first time in a decade that Meloni has played his role.

The series will act as a spin-off to Special Victims Unit, as as Stabler heads the organized crime division following a "devastating personal loss".

The synopsis adds: "Stabler will aim to rebuild his life as part of a new elite task force that is taking apart the city's most powerful criminal syndicates one by one."

Hargitay recently shared a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of Organized Crime that included a selfie with Meloni.

Law & Order: SVU airs Thursdays on NBC in the US. The show airs on Sky Witness in the UK, with select episodes available on NOW TV.
